Using Drones To Speed Up Lab Tests

According to NPR, Geroff Baird bought a drone 3 years ago. His hope is that with this drone will be used to transport some tubes of blood and other specimens to Harborview Medical Center, where he works as a clinical pathologist running the hospital chemistry and toxicology labs. A drone would be a real help because cars that need to send tests urgently in rush hours is completely horrible. This would be providing a faster cheaper way to send specimens to the hospital test labs. The technology could be possible, drone are already sending pizza and products from Amazon and Wal-Mart! “However blood specimens are not like shoes or books” said Thimothy Amukele assistant professor of pathology at Johns Hopkins School of medicine the bumpy rides of the drone could break the cells or otherwise make biological sample unsuitable for lab tests. In the men time zipline’s U.S. projects remain on hold , awaiting the regulatory go-ahead. Video and photo from Shots health news from npr.
